The 14th day of April 1990 will remain as land mark in the history of field of dentistry of state of Bihar in particular, and nation as whole for, it was on this very auspicious day of birth centenarary year of Bharat Ratna Late Baba-Saheb Ambedkar the Institute took it’s inception as a mark of memory and tribute to the great soul, who dedicated his life for the welfare & upliftment of poor and down trodden of the society. The institute being the first of it’s kind in the north-east region of the country, imparting vocational training in field of Dentistry under the banner of Late Baba - Saheb Bhim Rao Ambedkar, the great humanist, the pioneer of Indian freedom and the architect of modern India.
The Institute is being Managed by Gautam Educational & Welfare Society, a Buddhist Minority Society registered under Society Registration Act 21,1860 as well as by Governing Council, Represented by galaxy of educationists and dedicated persons of social and religious fields.
The Bachelor of Dental Surgery (B.D.S.) Course run by the institute is Recoganised by Ministry of Health Medical Education & Family Welfare Govt. of India, New Delhi and Recognised by Dental Council of India, New Delhi and the same has been notified in Gazette of India. Vide No. V-12018/3/99-PMS Dated 15th April 2000.
