History Of Kerala Institute of Medical Sciences
A dream has come true when KIMS was inaugurated by H.E. Mr. Sukhdev Singh Kang, Justice (Rtd.), Governor of Kerala on 23rd January, 2002. This has initiated a long journey to set new standards in the field of health care in this part of the country. Health care delivery is in a fine balance due to the increasing expectations of the customer and the cost of continuous technological advances in the field of medicine. Patients now want to be more actively involved in the decision making process concerning their care and treatment.
We at KIMS hope to deliver high quality medical care to meet these requirements. By the end of first year we were successful to a great extent in establishing a "hospital with a difference" to provide comprehensive health care under one roof. We focus not only on secondary and tertiary care but give equal emphasis for primary care, preventive care and community medicine.
