Position Summary:
Reporting to the Patient Care Manager of Critical Care you will be responsible for providing excellent care to a diverse patient population within our multi-service environment. You will be part of a 22 bed unit. With a Delivery Model that is Total Patient Care. You will provide high quality nursing care to patients and their families, based on the philosophy and conceptual framework of Nursing Practice at The Scarborough Hospital. The successful applicant must commit to working in compliance with the provisions of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and hospital policy, utilizing protective equipment provided and identifying and reporting hazards.
Required Qualifications:
* Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
* Current BCLS.
* Completion of Critical course with Concepts 1 and 2
* Critical Care experience.
* 1-2 years of medical/surgical experience in an acute care setting.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal.
* Demonstrates excellent problem-solving, decision making and critical thinking skills.
* Demonstrates excellent organizational and time-management skills.
* Demonstrates excellent team building skills.
* Demonstrates initiative and the ability to function both independently and as a multidisciplinary team member in a fast paced demanding environment.
* Satisfactory work performance and attendance.
Preferred Qualifications:
* ACLS
* Five years Critical Care experience
* Completion of Critical Care Certificate
* Ability to speak another language
