  Job Description :   
 
Position reports to the Vice President of Public Affairs and Marketing. Overall, support ongoing public affairs, marketing, and communications activities for the medical center. Support the HWOP initiatives plan including implementation of designated elements of the Community Marketing and Communications Plan. Support new marketing initiatives and opportunities

Position must demonstrate and exhibit high-level skills in, and a commitment to, collaboration, cooperation, consensus building and working as a team player.

* Public Affairs and marketing Communications Responsibilities (Position 3) *
Special Events Planning

Responsible for planning, implementing and promoting all Medical Center special events and community events for internal and external stakeholders. This includes, but is not limited to, Volunteer Appreciation Reception, Sundowners, Doctorís Day, Health & Wellness Expo, Flu Clinics, Blood Drives and service lines promotions. Manage project per approved budget and schedule. (Primary)

Community Education Programs

Responsible for planning, implementing and promoting all Medical Center community education events for external stakeholders. This includes, but is not limited to, Service Line/Physician education seminars and presentations. Manage project per approved budget and schedule. (Primary)

Community Partnership Programs

Responsible for planning, implementing and promoting all Medical Center community partnership programs and events for external stakeholders, including, but not limited to programs with LegoLand, Westfield Mall, area colleges and universities, Chambers of Commerce etc. (Primary)

District Resident Benefit Program

Responsible for fully implementing and promoting the District Resident Benefit Program and other patient and community loyalty programs, and establishing and meeting agreed upon penetration goals annually. Manage project per approved budget and schedule. (Primary)

Direct Mail Program Management

Responsible for overseeing and managing distribution of the Medical Centerís direct mailing collateral. This includes managing the creation and purchase of target audience lists. (Primary)

* Ongoing Marketing and Employee Communications Publications/Collateral *
Responsible for planning, implementing, publishing and distributing of Medical Center ongoing marketing collateral for internal and external stakeholders. This includes, but is not limited to, Welcome Wagon and new residents publications, phone book, Joint Commission Readiness Booklets, specialized service line pamphlets, flyers, posters, banners and other marketing materials. Manage project per approved budget and schedule. (Primary)

* Baby of Mine *
Manage staff employee responsible for the Baby of Mine program. (Primary)

* Promotional Items *
Responsible for acquisition of all Medical Center promotional items. (Primary)

* News and Feature Writer *
Identify, research, coordinate, write and place Level B news stories for media, Website, community and employee newsletter, and marketing efforts. Level B includes storytelling; good news updates, feature and soft news profiles on medical and professional staff, facilities, processes and procedures; and soft news/human interest articles about TCMC. As is appropriate, coordinate and / or manage such activities with contacted agency. As appropriate, coordinate efforts and activities with key stakeholder groups such as Human Resources for employee related stories, Medical Staff for physician-related stories and Foundation for hospital stories. Manage project per approved budget and schedule. (Joint)

* Marketing Coordination *
Provide marketing communications consultation services to TCMC service lines and departments on how to communicate and market their services. Edit, write and coordinate production of print media applications, PowerPoint and visual media presentations, brochures, posters and ads. Assist in development of marketing campaigns. As is appropriate, coordinate and / or manage such activities with contracted public relations and advertising agencies. (Joint)

* Strategic Communications Consultation *
As assigned, research data and prepare reports on topical, strategic Public Affairs, Community and Marketing issues related to the Medical Center and its operations. Provide such consultation services to the leadership team, as needed. (Joint)

* Physician Referral Coordination *
Oversee the physician phone and website referral system. Manage staff, contract and consulting resources. (Secondary Backup)

* Daily News Items E-mail Report *
Backup the Strategic Services Coordinator in preparing the Daily News Items Report when that position in on PTO. (Secondary Backup)

* Reporting *
Prepare Weekly Update and End of the Month Reports on successes and results, as is appropriate. (Joint)

* Other Duties *
Provide support on other duties not enumerated above, as requested

A minimum of 5 years experience in a related field and a Bachelors degree in a related field (journalism, communications, marketing).
