| Residents Summer BBQ Day |

On August 17th, residents, their families, friends and staff got together to enjoy a delicious lunch together in the grounds of the Hospital Home accompanied by entertainment from a Pianist tinkering the ivories. The annual BBQ has always been a popular event in our calendar and this year was no exception!
We were blessed with a beautiful sunny day and everyone took advantage of the weather sitting outside on the lawn. Residents, families and staff were treated to a scrumptious hogroast which went down well with guests and was cooked to perfection. With more than 100 people turning up to tuck into the tasty lunch, Matron had to step in to man the serving line, making sure everyone had plenty to eat!
The day creates a real ‘home-like’ atmosphere with family and friends turning up to mingle with the residents. A raffle was held following the lunch with fantastic prizes, including artwork made by our residents. We raised a smashing £72 which will go towards supporting ex-Servicemen and women. Thank you to everyone who came along. We look forward to seeing everyone at the next BBQ! |
