| AMMC’S BRANTLEY, FISHER HONORED BY ASU |

PARAGOULD, AR. – Shanon Brantley, a speech-language pathologist with Arkansas Methodist Medical Center,
and Bill Fisher, a member of the AMMC Board of Directors were both recognized recently by Arkansas State
University with prestigious honors.
The College of Nursing and Health Professionals, Department of Communications Disorders at ASU
honored Brantley as a 2008 Distinguished Alumnus.
Brantley earned her master’s degree in communications disorders from ASU in 1999. At AMMC, she
provides a range of diagnostic and therapeutic services to patients including voice therapy, VitalStim therapy and
swallow studies.
In presenting the award, Dr. Richard Neeley, Chair of the ASU Department of Communication Disorders
lauded Brantley as “an outstanding speech-language pathologist who serves as a role model for undergraduate and
graduate students enrolled in the degree programs at ASU.”
A Jonesboro resident, Brantley and her husband, Larry, have two children.
In addition, Bill Fisher, an AMMC board member and CEO of Paragould Light, Water and Cable, was
honored by ASU’s College of Business as a Business Executive of the Year.
In presenting the award to Fisher, Dr. Len Frey, Dean of ASU’s College of Business called Fisher a well
deserving candidate.
“At AMMC, we’ve always known that Shanon and Bill are tremendous assets in their service to the
medical center and commitment to quality, compassionate care for our patients. It’s truly fitting for their hard work
and accomplishments be recognized in this distinguished manner,” AMMC President and CEO Ron Rooney said.
