| Aurora Hospitals in West Allis and Sheboygan Ranked Among the Top 100 U.S. Hospitals |

Milwaukee, Wis. -- Aurora West Allis Medical Center and Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center have two new quality awards among their accomplishments. The Aurora hospitals in West Allis and Sheboygan are among the nation's top 100 hospitals according to Thomson Reuters. They also are among a select group of hospitals considered a role model for others.
Aurora West Allis Medical Center and Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center were recognized with the Thomson Reuters 100 Top Hospitals National Benchmark Award and the Thomson Reuters Everest Award for National Benchmarks. This is the second consecutive year that both hospitals were named to the 100 Top Hospitals list.
Modern Healthcare magazine released the 16th edition of Thomson Reuters 100 Top Hospitals study, a list that recognizes hospitals that have achieved excellence in patient outcomes, patient safety, patient satisfaction and efficiency.
This year marks the first time that Thomson Reuters has given the Everest Award. This award honors a select group of exceptional hospitals from the top 100 list. These facilities have achieved the best rate of long-term improvement, resulting in the highest performance in the country at the end of five years. Aurora West Allis and Aurora Sheboygan Memorial were among 23 hospitals across the country to achieve this honor.
Rick Kellar, chief administrative officer for Aurora West Allis Medical Center, was pleased with the recognition. "Receiving this award shows the commitment that Aurora West Allis caregivers and physicians have made to achieving our goal of delivering high-quality, patient-centered care to the communities we serve," Kellar says. "The measurements for these awards closely mirror the priorities of Aurora Health Care and this recognition highlights the efforts of all of our caregivers in ensuring that our patients receive a better care experience than they can get anywhere else."
Len Wilk, chief administrative officer at Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center, noted the exceptional work done over the last five years at the hospital. "We embarked on a journey to performance excellence years ago and have reached a level of performance that other hospitals are trying to emulate," he said.
"It is great that our caregivers are being recognized for the work that they have done in the areas of patient safety, quality and cost management," said Wilk. "It is very rewarding for our staff and medical staff to be honored nationally. This reflects the work that we are doing not only in our hospital but also throughout the integrated system Aurora Health Care has in place for its patients."
Thomson Reuters is a leading health care consultant that annually analyzes publicly available data to identify their top 100 facilities. This year's analysis included 3,000 short-term, acute-care hospitals.
"The 100 Top Hospitals winners raised the bar again this year, delivering a higher level of reliable care and greater value for their communities," says Jean Chenoweth, senior vice president for performance improvement and 100 Top Hospitals programs at Thomson Reuters.
Chenoweth notes that if all Medicare inpatients received the same level of care as those at the winning hospitals

* Expenses would decline by $5.9 billion per year
* The average patient stay would decrease by nearly
