CONCORD, N.H. - Dr. G. Darby Pope has joined the Concord Hospital medical staff and will practice as a thoracic surgeon. Thoracic surgery is the treatment of diseases that affect the lungs, chest wall, esophagus and diaphragm. Among other activities, Pope will assist in the development of a multidisciplinary Thoracic Oncology Program at Concord Hospital Payson Center for Cancer Care.
A graduate of Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, Md., Pope completed his residency and internship in general surgery at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H. He completed his fellowship in thoracic surgery at St. Luke’s Hospital at the University of Missouri in Kansas City, Mo. Pope is board-certified in thoracic surgery.
Additionally, he has extensive medical research experience and has presented the information at conferences across the United States. Pope has co-written many medical abstracts that have appeared in local and national publications.
