Deerfield Beach, FL – Broward Health North Broward Medical Center has appointed Dr. Bruce E. Janke Medical Director of its newly opened Joint Replacement Center.
Dr. Janke played a vital role in the process of attaining Joint Commission Certification for hip and knee replacement at NBMC, the first and only hospital in Broward County to achieve this prestigious certification. The new Joint Replacement Center features private patient rooms, family centered patient education, group therapy and the latest advances in joint replacement surgery.
A board certified and fellowship trained orthopaedic surgeon at East Coast Orthopaedics in Pompano, Dr. Janke has extensive experience in sports related injuries, arthroscopy, knee and shoulder reconstruction and total joint replacement. He received his undergraduate degree in Biology from Florida State University before attending medical school at the University of Miami. He then moved to Ohio where he completed his residency at Saint Luke’s Medical Center in Cleveland before tackling a Sports Medicine Fellowship at the University of Cincinnati. Dr. Janke is a member of numerous professional organizations such as the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Broward County Athletic Association and the Florida Orthopaedic Society. He has received several awards including North Broward Medical Center’s “Physician of the Year” in 2002 and North Broward Medical Center’s “Most Valuable Physician” in 2006. In his free time, Dr. Janke enjoys exercising, boating, golfing and spending time with his wife and three daughters.
