Saint Mary’s “Enlightenment Series”Gets “Back to Basics”
Date : - 17/11/2008
The Saint Mary’s Hospital Auxiliary will host the second program in its Enlightenment Series for Women on Thursday, November 20 from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

“Back to Basics: Sleep, Nutrition and Exercise for Women,” will be held in the auditorium of the Saint Mary’s Hospital Medical-Dental Conference Center. Admission is free and free parking is available in the conference center garage on South Elm Street, directly across from Sacred Heart High School.

The program will be hosted by Dr. Leslie Coopersmith, who is board certified in internal medicine and will explain how sleep, nutrition and exercise work together to provide a foundation for a health lifestyle. Also participating in the program are: Dr. Gregory Colodner, medical director of Saint Mary’s Sleep Disorders Center, who will explain why women may be having trouble sleeping and offer tips for getting better sleep; Dr. Beatriz R. Olson, who is board certified in endocrinology, metabolism and diabetes, and will provide tips for healthy eating on the go; and Elizabeth Speed, manager of Saint Mary’s Outpatient Rehabilitation, who will offer quick and easy ways to start a new exercise routine.

“In today’s 24/7 society, women are always on the go. We are constantly juggling our work and family lives. With all of this running around, many of us feel tired and overburdened, and our health begins to suffer,” said Lynette Letsky-Piambo, an Auxiliary board member and co-chairwoman of the Enlightenment Series. “That’s why we are inviting women of all ages to take 90 minutes for yourself and get back to the basics of your health.”

To reserve a seat, please call Stefanie Falco, community relations coordinator, at (203) 709-6214. Additional information about the Enlightenment Series is available online at www.stmh.org.
