| WMC offers weight management solutions for every BODY |

Millions of Americans feel burned out, angry, or disillusioned after achieving little to no lasting results through dieting. Weight-loss supplements may claim to give extraordinary results with very little effort, but the problem for most people is quite simple: food tastes good, so we eat a lot of it, and we don't use all the calories we consume.
Winneshiek Medical Center is offering a weight management course beginning with an informational/registration session on Thursday, January 20 at 5:00 pm on the lower level of WMC. This 10-week course will meet every Thursday thereafter in the same location from 5:00-6:00 pm. The course fee is $180 per person and will include a registration to the 100-Day Wellness Challenge in Winneshiek County.
Lead by Joetta Redlin, MS, RD, LD and Angie Kerndt RD, LD, registered dietitians at Winneshiek Medical Center, the weight management course offers support focusing on real solutions for long-term weight loss. Participants will learn how to record what they eat, how portion size affects calorie intake and how to modify their favorite recipes to make them more healthful. Redlin says, "We provide support for people who are tired of dieting and ready to truly lose weight. Angie and I prepare individualized nutrition plans and teach you how to create your own menus, instead of relying on expensive meal plans marketed by weight-loss companies." The course also covers hot topics in weight management, portion control, how to include minimal activity to increase weight loss and dealing with family and friends who are less then helpful.
