** Edmonton General Continuing Care Centre **
The Continuing Care program, housed in the Edmonton General Continuing Care Centre, serves 436 seniors requiring long-term, 24-hour nursing care. The program includes specialized care for residents requiring cognitive support and interdisciplinary support for all residents from social workers, chaplains and rehabilitation and therapeutic professionals.
In addition, the Ming Ai Unit -- developed with the support of the Chinese community -- provides care that meets the cultural and language needs of seniors of Asian descent.
Several acute care services are also located in the Edmonton General site. The Edmonton General is home to the region's first palliative care program in the 22-bed Mel Miller Hospice, as well as a 20-bed subacute unit and the Centre for Lung Health.
In addition, a regional renal dialysis unit and sleep laboratory are located at the site.
