| CVMC Nurse Navigator Receives Breast Health Certification |

Catawba Valley Medical Center’s (CVMC) nurse navigator, Karen McMeechan-Lodge, RN (registered nurse), MSN (master of science nursing), recently completed EduCare’s Breast Health Navigator training program and is now certified to serve as a breast health educator and case manager. Breast health navigators coordinate the clinical, educational and support needs of breast cancer patients and their families.
During the training, Ms. McMeechan-Lodge learned how to better educate patients about breast health issues and how to implement a complete program of education and support for women diagnosed with breast cancer. Her office is in the Catawba Valley Imaging Center.
Located at 1501 Tate Boulevard, Catawba Valley Imaging Center is a service of Catawba Valley Medical Center and provides diagnostic x-rays, CT scans, ultrasound imaging, bone density scans, mammography, MRI and nuclear medicine for those who can receive their tests as outpatients. Equipped with totally digitalized technology, CVIC is dedicated to patient comfort and easy access to services. The office can be reached by phone at 828-485-2766; the office hours are from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
