Bloomington Hospital and Clarian Health have announced the selection of Kaufman, Hall & Associates, Inc, a national health care strategy and financial advisory firm, to facilitate the regional plan as part of the next step toward the integration of the two Indiana based health care hospital systems.
Last November, Bloomington Hospital announced it was in discussions with Clarian Health toward potential integration. The integration is planned to facilitate better health care delivery for the residents of south central Indiana.
Kaufman Hall will work with leaders from Clarian Health and Bloomington Hospital to:
* Develop a comprehensive market, strategic and financial fact base to act as a foundation for regional planning
* Analyze the data to build shared knowledge about the health care needs of south central Indiana
* Identify key opportunities and issues for focus and development
* Create action plans to define initiatives to support opportunities
* Work with a community task force and hospital leadership to define facility needs for the region, and potential executions to support facility needs.
The announcement of Kaufman Hall as the facilitator for the regional planning effort marks a significant step toward alignment, following a signed letter of intent by both parties in June. A definitive agreement is expected later this year. The definitive agreement will mark the beginning of an 18 month planning process to be led by Kaufman Hall.
