‘Infections’ is topic at Diabetes Support Group Oct. 2
Date : - 22/09/2008
** Written by A.L. Lee Memorial Hospital **

The Diabetes Support Group will hold its next meeting Thursday, Oct. 2, from 10 to11:30 am in Conference Room A at A.L. Lee Memorial Hospital. The group is free and open to people of all ages whose life has been impacted by diabetes.

“People with diabetes always need to be on the lookout for any signs of infection,” said Rebecca Bettinger, R.N., Lee Memorial’s Patient-Community educator. “Daily foot inspection is a must. Checking the skin for breaks, and closely monitoring any cuts, no matter how minor, is essential for maintaining good health.” There will be time for questions at the end of the session.

More information about the support group is available by calling Lee Memorial Hospital’s Education Office, 591-9868.
