** MISSION STATEMENT **
Indus is committed to excellence in scientific health care provided with human dignity and compassion in a safe and comfortable setting which is conducive for healing of the body and the mind. Modern high technology health care, delivered through investor owned corporate proprietary hospitals in a developing country, like India, is affordable to a select segment of the affluent urban population only. Such hospitals have an obligation to produce financial returns on the investment of the owners by levying exorbitant charges for services. On the other end of the spectrum, the poor and the indigent are left to the mercy of quacks or socialized government owned hospitals where health care is delivered, partly , as a charity without any considerations to the quality of care or accountability on the part of the providers.
The vast majority of the working middle class is caught in the middle. They look for affordable quality health care provided with compassion, dignity and accountability for which a community supported no-profit no-loss modern private hospital , like Indus, with social responsibility towards the less fortunate segment of our society, is the only answer. At Indus Hospital, genuinely poor patients are treated free of cost to the extent of twenty-five (25) percent of bed occupancy. However, others must reimburse the Hospital in order to meet the costs of running, maintenance , expansion and world-class standards of health care.
