Built in the 1960's, Crawley Hospital enjoys a near town centre location. Originally Crawley District General Hospital, Crawley merged with Horsham Hospital in the early nineties to form the Crawley Horsham NHS Trust, one of the first Trusts to be established.
Crawley and Horsham Trust joined with East Surrey Healthcare NHS Trust in 1998, creating Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust. Horsham Hospital moved over to the control of the then Horsham & Chanctonbury Primary Care Trust (PCT) in April 2003, although Surrey and Sussex Healthcare continue to provide some services there in partnership with the PCT.
From 1st October 2006, Crawley Hospital moved to the management of the West Sussex PCT. As with Horsham, Surrey and Sussex Healthcare continue to provide some services there in partnership with the PCT.
