Boise VAMC's Primary Service Area has a radius of approximately 160 miles with an estimated veteran population of 94,000. The Boise VAMC, within VISN 20, provides highly sophisticated primary and secondary care with some tertiary services. The Boise VA Medical Center also operates a Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) in Twin Falls, Idaho and Caldwell, Idaho and an Extension Clinic in Burns, Oregon. A behavioral Health Clinic is located in Salmon, Idaho. A Vet Center and Veterans Benefits Office are both located in Boise.
Boise, the State Capital of Idaho, is a part of Ada County which has a population of 300,904. It is situated in the valley of the river from which it takes its name, at an elevation of 2,710 feet.
