History Of Orange Regional Medical Center, Horton Campus
Horton Medical Center (HMC) is a 286- bed, Medical Center located in Middletown, NY. To meet the challenging needs of the diverse community HMC has over the years, developed a wide range of programs and services. HMC offers traditional medical, surgical and pediatric services as well as specialized services in emergency medicine, oncology, diagnostic imaging, rehabilitation, endoscopy, women’s health and urology. HMC has a staff of 1250 employees and over 320 physicians.
In addition to the main campus on Prospect Avenue, Horton Medical Center has various Hospital-based outpatient care services facilities to accommodate patient’s needs. Many procedures, which previously required costly inpatient care, are now performed on an outpatient basis. The Horton Medical Pavilion, Horton Medical Center Outpatient Rehabilitation Center, Horton Medical Center’s Women’s Center for Health and Wellness, and Women’s Imaging Centers are facilities that specialize in a variety of outpatient services.

Timeline of Events
908 - Chartered as the Goshen Emergency hospital
1915 - the Hospital moves to Greenwich Avenue
1921 - Became the Goshen Hospital
1950’s - hospital had grown to a fully accredited 50-bed facility.
May 20, 1967 - Arden Hill Hospital opens as a 79- bed Progressive Patient Care (PPC) facility. It was the first in the nation planned and built as a four zone PPC hospital of fewer than 100 beds. The Goshen Hospital changes its name to Arden Hill Hospital and moves to its current location on Harriman Drive.
1972 - The Jeanne E. Jonas Mental Health Wing opens
