Our Mission
JCMH's mission is to serve the residents of Southwest Oklahoma and North Texas by providing excellent care while focusing on patient safety, ethical standards, and community needs in a fiscally responsible manner
Jackson County Memorial Hospital in Altus, Oklahoma, is a 151 licensed bed facility in the heart of historic southwest Oklahoma. Entering our 60th year, Jackson County Memorial Hospital is the second largest employer in Jackson County, following Altus Air Force Base. With over 800 employees, JCMH is growing its campuses with new services to enhance the health and well being of its residents. A non-profit organization, JCMH is a trust authority, governed by a nine-member board of trustees.
The state-of-the art Cancer Centers of Southwest Oklahoma on the JCMH campus opens in September and will provide the latest in radiation and chemotherapy treatment to patients throughout Southwest Oklahoma and North Texas. JCMH is proud to enter a new era in patient care.
Comprehensive ancillary services include Radiology, Nuclear Medicine, Laboratory with blood banking services, Sleep Lab, and Rehabilitation Services. Other top-rated services are the JCMH Counseling Center, Home Health Products, a durable medical equipment retail store; Tamarack Assisted Living Center, a 54-bed assisted living facility and Senior Perspectives, a geriatric psychiatric day treatment program. Additionally, JCMH medical practices in Pediatrics, Obstetrics/Gynecology, Family Practice, Orthopedics and two Hospitalists provide patient-centered care. Nursing ratios are progressive and continuous recruitment and job satisfaction are priority.
The southwest Oklahoma lifestyle is a mixture of rural and small town living. Quartz Mountain Resort, just north of Altus, is home to the beautiful Quartz Mountain Lodge and the Twin Peaks Performance Hall where special music performances and the Oklahoma Summer Arts Institute are held each summer. The Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge east of Altus contains a myriad of outdoor activities surrounded by buffalo, long horn, elk and other wild animals in their natural habitat. Metropolitan cities such as Dallas/Ft. Worth, Oklahoma City and Amarillo, Texas, are an easy drive only a few hours away.
