** Mission Statement **
The mission of Blue Mountain Hospital is to provide compassionate, comprehensive, community healthcare that meet our customer's expectations. Our mission, as well as our vision and values, serves as a guideline for daily decision making and represents the principles and practices that we constantly apply. The comfort and care of our patients is a major focus of ours. We want to provide quality and cost effective care that is close to home.
Another objective of ours is to provide education and to increase your health awareness. Part of our mission is to continally put the "care" in healthcare. More healthcare information is now available from our Web site, which also provides patient education resources for you, your family, and friends to explore. Access to these services and your physician's location is given through the programming for non-emergencies.

Blue Mountain Hospital District
Blue Mountain Hospital District is a non-profit organization directed by a local Board of Directors. The District consists of a 25-bed hospital located in John Day, and a 48-bed nursing home in Prairie City. John Day currently has five family practice physicians, a surgeon, family nurse practitioner and a physician's assistant. We participate in the Oregon Health Sciences University Family Practice Residency program, which rotates residents and interns through our community on a regular basis.
