| STEGH Announces New Chief of Staff and Vice President Medical Affairs |

St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital (STEGH) is pleased to announce that Dr. Nancy Whitmore has joined the Hospital as Chief of Staff and Vice President Medical Affairs. Dr. Whitmore will succeed Dr. Lori Teeple who will be returning to full time duties in STEGH’s Emergency Department and Complex Continuing Care Centre.
“Dr. Whitmore is a highly respected medical practitioner as well as an experienced clinical executive leader, and she will be a great addition to our organization and to the pursuit of our vision to be the best community hospital in Ontario,” says Lyle McLean, STEGH Board Chair.
Dr. Whitmore leaves her position as Medical Program Director for both Medicine and Surgery for the Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance which includes the Stratford General Hospital, to join the STEGH executive team. Dr. Whitmore was a previous member of STEGH’s medical staff in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology from 1992 to 1994, and she has a Masters Degree in Business Administration from the Richard Ivey School of Business.
“The role for a physician executive leader at the Senior Management table has evolved significantly,” says STEGH President and CEO Paul Collins. “Dr. Whitmore brings with her a unique and valuable blend of clinical and executive skills and training.”
“I enjoyed working in this Hospital and I am excited to return to STEGH as Chief of Staff. It is a great organization,” says Dr. Whitmore. “I believe strong physician leadership is a key part of the future of healthcare.”
“I would like to thank Dr. Tim Burns, Dr. William Frydman and Dr. Lori Teeple who have expertly shared the Chief of Staff/VP Medical Affairs responsibilities on an interim basis since September 1st,” Collins notes.
Dr. Whitmore currently resides in Stratford with her husband and three children.
