| InHealth opens its first Hearing Care Centre in Derby |

The first InHealth Hearing Care Centre opened in Derby city centre on the 4th October 2010. InHealth, a leading independent UK healthcare company, has been providing a wide range of diagnostic and imaging scans and tests both on behalf of the NHS and privately across the country for many years. Our audiology services currently operate from hospitals, community clinics and via mobile units and as a direct response to patient feedback wanting greater accessibility, we are now branching out onto the high street.
The new InHealth Hearing Care Centre provides easy access to hearing tests and enables GPs to refer patients directly to us for a hearing assessment, therefore eliminating waits for hospital outpatient appointments or long distances to travel. Our aim is to provide quick appointments in a convenient location, allowing patients to fit their hearing test around their everyday life.
We pride ourselves on providing the highest quality patient care and our store offers a friendly and welcoming environment, with the patient experience forming the foundation of our service.
The InHealth Hearing Care Centre is in the Westfield Derby Shopping Centre at Unit 11 on St Peter’s Way. It is open (from 8am – 6pm) 6 days a week and our trained staff will be available to give advice and help with fitting hearing aids. Whether patients want to make an appointment or would just like an informal chat, the InHealth Hearing Care Centre can help.
Paul Carney, Assistant Director of Commissioning at NHS Derbyshire County, said: “We’re delighted to be announcing the opening of this new hearing service in Derby.
“This follows months of rigorous negotiation from health bosses and is part of our wider review of hearing clinics in Derbyshire.
“The new service is excellent news for people in Derby with hearing problems as they will be able to walk into Derby city centre and have access to on-site support about products and services, request hearing assessments and have their NHS hearing aid batteries replaced without a prior appointment.
“It’s great that the new site is open six days a week too.”
