Dr. Brian Casazza, Medical Director of the Athens
Regional Spine Institute, was recently selected by his peers to be included in the Best Doctors in America® 2009-2010 database. He has been selected for this honor every year since 2005.
“It’s certainly a privilege to be honored by other doctors for the care that we’ve been able to offer our patients. We always strive to provide the best state-of-the-art care for our patients in a caring, compassionate manner,” said Dr. Casazza.
The Best Doctors in America database is a valued resource containing the names and professional profiles of approximately 45,000 of the best doctors in the United States. As exhaustive peer-review survey by thousands of doctors determines they physicians included in the database. Only those who earn the consensus support of their peers are
included. Doctors cannot buy listings. For this reason, inclusion in the Best Doctors in America database is a remarkable honor.

Dr. Casazza received a Cum Laude undergraduate degree from Princeton University in 1987 and his medical degree from Northwestern University Medical School, Chicago, Illinois in 1991. He completed his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and a Fellowship in Spine and Sports Medicine at Northwestern University Medical School’s
Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago in 1996. He has been Board Certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation since 1996.
Dr. Casazza came to Athens by way of Charlottesville, VA where he established a successful solo practice in 2002. He opened the Athens Regional Spine Institute in the summer of 2008.
Athens Regional Medical Center is a 315-bed full service regional referral center and is part of Athens Regional Health Services, an integrated system that provides for the healthcare needs of a 17-county service area in Northeast Georgia. Athens Regional has
recently expanded its Emergency Department and revamped its Radiology Department, Labor and Deliver and Mother - Baby Units. More expansion is underway that will bring the number of licensed beds to 360 and expand its surgical department with four new
operating rooms, pre-and post-operative areas, cardiovascular, endoscopy and laboratory services.
