Broadlawns Develops Center of Excellence in Diabetes Research |

Griffis Joins Broadlawns as Research Manager
Catherine D. Griffis, MA, CCRP recently joined the Broadlawns Medical Center’s Foot and Ankle Clinic at as research manager in the Amputation Prevention Center.
“We brought Catherine to Broadlawns to help us develop a center of excellence in diabetic research,” said Lee Rogers, D.P.M., director of the Amputation Prevention Center.
Griffis serves as clinical coordinator on a number of industry-sponsored trials. The medical center currently has active research in several areas to study treatment for diabetes-related foot and ankle conditions. The studies deal with healing chronic wounds, infections of the foot and ankle, prevention of diabetic foot complications, treatment of nail disease, and treatment of foot and ankle nerve damage and pain in persons with diabetes.

Prior to her arrival at Broadlawns, Catherine served as research manager for the Center for Lower Extremity Ambulatory Research in Chicago, Ill. Griffis earned her master’s degree from Loyola University Chicago.
