CPH Announces Digital Mammography |
Date : - 10/10/2008 |
To: Kenai Peninsula News & Radio
From: Bonnie Nichols – 714-4500
Central Peninsula Hospital is pleased to announce that we have upgraded our Imaging technology and now are able to offer digital mammography in both Kenai and Soldotna locations! Our Tungsten X-ray tubes with Rhodium and Silver Filters optimize image quality
and deliver a 30% lower dose of radiation to the breast. These tubes, manufactured in January of 2008 make Central Peninsula Hospital the first facility in the state to offer this advanced technology.
CPH is also pleased to welcome the Skagit Radiology group to the CPH medical staff. Skagit Radiology, Inc. is comprised of 16 highly specialized adiologists who read the images and have been using digital technology in other facilities for more than two years. The advantage of this technology, in addition to the lower dose of radiation, is it reduces the likelihood of returning for additional images. For more information contact Margaret Stroup,
Director of Imaging at Central Peninsula Hospital at 714-4590.
