Survey to Help Shape Healthcare Services at Hoag Hospital Irvine |
Date : - 25/06/2010 |
Hoag Hospital Irvine, in partnership with the City of Irvine, the Orange County Health Needs Assessment and California State University, Fullerton, will conduct a Health Needs Assessment survey of Irvine residents beginning in late June and continuing through August. The results of this confidential survey will benefit Irvine residents by helping Hoag Hospital Irvine and the City of Irvine better understand local healthcare needs.
Hoag Hospital Irvine is scheduled to open in September, following extensive renovations. In the interim, medical staff is working to develop healthcare services the hospital will offer Irvine residents. Conducted by phone, the confidential survey will take approximately 15 minutes and will be offered in five languages, Chinese, English, Farsi, Japanese, and Korean, to effectively reach Irvine’s diverse population.
“Irvine is a diverse and unique community with its own healthcare needs. The survey is an opportunity for Irvine residents to help us define the services we offer as well as how we deliver those services in a culturally sensitive way, so we encourage residents to participate in the survey,†said Dr. Gwyn Parry, Director of Community Medicine, Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian. “We want the community to have a sense of ownership in the hospital and we believe this is an important step in that direction.â€
The Orange County Health Needs Assessment, which conducts a countywide health assessment survey every three years, is overseeing the development of the survey and the Social Science Research Center at California State University, Fullerton is leading the implementation of the phone survey. Survey takers will identify themselves and will not ask for confidential personal information. For more information about the Irvine Health Needs Assessment survey, call Pamela Austin, 714-547-3631.
