Bridgeport Hospital is a private, not-for-profit acute care hospital located in Connecticut’s most populous city, primarily serving patients from Fairfield and New Haven Counties. Burn patients are seen in our Dr. Andrew J. & Henrietta Panettieri Burn Center—the only burn center in Connecticut—from throughout the state and neighboring states.
Bridgeport Hospital is a member of the Yale New Haven Health System with Yale-New Haven Hospital, Yale-New Haven Children's Hospital and Greenwich Hospital, and managed care network participant Westerly (R.I.) Hospital.
Bridgeport Hospital has 425 licensed beds, more than 2,600 employees, 580 active attending physicians representing more than 60 subspecialties, 235 medical/surgical residents and fellows in programs affiliated with Yale University School of Medicine, and more than 360 volunteers and 400 auxilians.
Bridgeport Hospital provides nearly 260,000 patient care visits annually, including 20,000 admissions; nearly 240,000 total outpatient visits to the hospital (including more than 77,000 emergency department visits and 35,000 clinic visits); 7,200 SurgEase (same day surgery) visits, and 38,000 outpatient rehabilitation visits.
