| New orthopaedic surgeon joins ARMC |

With over 25 years experience, Steve Vorenkamp, M.D. joins Alpena Orthopaedic Associates and began seeing patients this week. He joins Drs. Eric Cornish, Kabindra Mishra, and Jonathan Bielfield.
Dr. Vorenkamp specializes in general orthopaedics, joint replacement, shoulder surgery, arthroscopic surgery, and athletic injuries.
"I chose and enjoy orthopaedic surgery because I like helping people overcome an injury or ease the pain of aging by allowing them to return to the daily activities they enjoy such as walking, golf and other sports," said Vorenkamp.
He received his medical degree from the University of Michigan and completed his undergraduate education at Michigan State University. His internship and residency training was completed at Bronson and Borgess Hospitals in Kalamazoo, Michigan. For the past 22 years, Dr. Vorenkamp has been in private practice in Petoskey. He is Board Certified from the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.
"I was immediately impressed by the beauty of the hospital as well as the praise Dr. Cornish has for the hospital employees," said Vorenkamp when asked why he chose to come to Alpena. "Also, the hospital administration is dedicated to making Alpena the place to go for orthopaedic care in Northern Michigan and I’m excited to be a part of that care."
Dr. Vorenkamp is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Medical Association, Michigan Orthopaedic Society, and the Michigan State Medical Society.
In his spare time Dr. Vorenkamp enjoys playing bridge, skiing, and biking. |
