FREEHOLD TOWNSHIP—Advance for Nurses magazine has named CentraState Medical Center a “top hospital” in the region, according to results from a recent survey of readers of the registered nurses’ publication.
In the magazine’s second annual Readers’ Choice survey, RNs ranked hospitals in categories that “matter most to nurses”: quality of care, organizational culture, professional development, communication and retention efforts. On a five-point scale, CentraState scored 4 or 5 in all five categories, attaining the “Honor Roll” in the magazine’s Greater New York/New Jersey Metro area edition.
“Earning ‘top hospital’ status from registered nurses throughout the region underscores the commitment CentraState has made to our nursing professionals and the work they do,” Linda Geisler, RN, MNEd, CNAA, BC, vice president, Patient Care Services, said. “The recognition also affirms the high standards of nursing excellence that earned us Magnet designation by the American Nurses Credentialing Center of the American Nurses Association.”
Nurses from across the Greater New York/New Jersey Metro Area voted in an online poll by the nursing magazine earlier this year. Results appeared in the Oct. 13 issue.
CentraState Healthcare System is a non-profit community health organization consisting of an acute-care hospital, an ambulatory care campus, three senior living communities, a Family Medicine Residency Program, and a charitable foundation. It is a member of the Robert Wood Johnson Health Network and a clinical research affiliate of The Cancer Institute of New Jersey, a National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center.
